Hebron Lady Eagles leave victorious; Eagles eliminated from postseason

LEARNED — The Hebron Christian Lady Eagles bounced back from a North-Central tournament final loss and claimed a 60-32 win over the Trinity Episcopal Lady Saints Monday night at REBUL Academy.
Holly Hudson led the Lady Eagles with 16 points, Rebekah Falkner added 14 and Victoria Ferguson notched 10 in the win.
Hebron (19-5) used a big second quarter, outscoring Trinity, 20-7, and grabbed a double-digit lead at halftime, 33-20. The Lady Eagles held 22-point advantage at the end of the third quarter, 45-23.
Hebron plays against the Delta Academy Lady Raiders in the Class-A quarterfinal at 6:30 p.m. today in Learned.
In boys’ action, Arzell McCoy scored a game-high 34 points and the Trinity Episcopal Saints capitalized with a quick start to defeat the Hebron Christian Eagles, 77-55, in an opening round game in the MAIS Class-A tournament.
Hebron sophomore Clay Faulkner led the Eagles with 21 points, Hayden Carty added 15 and Landon Hill tallied 14 in the loss.
The Eagles were eliminated from the postseason and finished with a 15-7 overall record in the 2013-14 season.
