The Hebron Christian School Lady Eagles won big on Thursday night at home, while the varsity Boy’s team continued to struggle on offense.

Girl’s Game

The Lady Eagles clinched the District 3-1A championship on Thursday night at home with a 49-33 win over Columbus Christian.

Despite a 20-20 tie at halftime, the Lady Eagles didn’t look back, with Rachael McGrew leading all scorers with 16 points to finish the night.

Caralee Smith finished the game with 11; McKinsey Wedel with 9; Micah Thompson with 6; Eliana Carter with 5, and Mattie Parrish with 2.

Eliana Carter was voted District MVP and will represent Hebron in the All-Star game after the season ends.

McGrew was voted Best Offensive Player for District 3-1A, and all five starters made the All- District team: Eliana Carter, Rachael McGrew, McKinsey Wedel, Micah Thompson, and Caralee Smith.

Boy’s Game

The Eagles struggled on the varsity side, losing 58-22, but the junior varsity managed to close out its season with a win that clinched the District title.

The Junior Varsity squad, which finished 5-1 in District play and 12-3 overall, did not win a game last year, which Coach Gary Vaughn said he was proud to see in terms of the turnaround.

The JV team won 28-18, led by 9 points from Dash Turman, 6 points from Doug Loden, 5 points from John Garrett Lowe, 4 from Braeden Triplett and 4 from Bradley Scott.

On the varsity end, Adrian Borst and Thomas Gable led Eagles scorers with 4 points each.
