The AA Carroll Academy Lady Raiders could not do anything with Tori Nichols on Thursday night. The Hebron Christian senior put up 25 points against the Lady Rebel defense, en route to a 58-33 win over Carroll.
Carroll was the second AA team that Hebron (17-2; 4-0) had knocked off this week, as they defeated Winston easily on Tuesday.
Hebron has a way of jumping out to a large lead and cruising in the later quarters. They did just that in this road game.
In the first quarter, Nichols led the offense to 19 points, while they Lady Eagles held Carroll to just five in the opening frame.
The second quarter wasn’t much different, as Hebron scored 15 more points on the Lady Rebels, holding them to 11 points.
Leading 34-16 at the half, Hebron continued their good work when they returned to the floor in the third.
They managed to get out of the third out-scoring Carroll once again 14-9.
Carroll could not get anything done on offense, and Hebron’s 10-8 fourth quarter scoring sealed the deal for the Lady Eagles.
Cathryn Moore finished second on the team with 12 points against Carroll.
Hillary Arnold scored 11 points, and Beverly Blake scored 6 points.
Tuesday night’s leading scorer, Magen Tapley, finished Thursday night’s game with four points.
Hebron will be back on the road tomorrow night, jump-starting district play for 2011 with a match against Winona.
