Growth Alliance prepares for 'Bunny Brunch'

April 5, 2014

The West Point Clay County Growth Alliance and local Main Street Association are looking to keep West Point hopping.
Beginning 9 a.m. Saturday, April 19, the organization will host its first ever “Bunny Brunch” at the Henry Clay Hotel on Commerce Street in West Point. Local children and their parents and guardians are invited to come share in treats of doughnut holes and milk and meet the one and only Easter Bunny.
Growth Alliance Director Lisa Klutts said she’d been planning the event for about three months, since assuming control of Growth Alliance operations in January. She said she hopes the event will provide a better alternative to former celebrations.
“They used to do an egg hunt,” Klutts said. “But it seemed like it always got rained out or something happened. This way they can come inside, enjoy some little things to snack on and get their pictures made with the Easter Bunny. I think it’ll work better all around.”
Cost for the program is $5 per child, and admission fee covers snacks as well as pictures with the Easter Bunny.
