The Green Wave of West Point (6-1; 3-0) are currently riding a four-game winning streak, after defeating Oxford in a close 22-20 home match on Friday.
That game improved their district standings to a perfect 3-0, and they will be looking to make that a perfect four this week, as they hit the road to take on Lake Cormorant (5-2; 2-1).
The Gators dropped a district match for the first time last Friday, as they were shut out by New Hope 21-0.
In a tough conference battle, both of these teams will be vying for a playoff spot on Friday.
Lake Cormorant started the season 3-0, before dropping their first game, in Memphis, against Trezevant.
They would win the following two ball games, both league matches, against Hernando and Gentry.
Those back-to-back dominating performances were followed up by the dismal New Hope game last week.
This will be the first of four district matches to end the season for West Point that will also include Saltillo, Clarksdale and Hernando.
