Grady H. Ivy

Grady H. Ivy 75, passed away, Jan. 20, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Mr. Grady was born Feb. 5, 1938, in the Sherwood Community outside Mathiston in Choctaw County, the son of the late Wert Lee and Virgie Vaughn Ivy. He graduated from Mathiston High School. He was an United States Army
Veteran, having served during the Berlin Crisis. He attended Riverside Baptist Church. He was a truck driver, having driven for Miller Transport and Southern Ionics. He married Barbara Jean Steadman March 15, 1961, in Oktibbeha County.
Funeral services are today. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at 2: p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Sallee officiating, and assisted by Dr. James Towery. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Ivy; one daughter, Felicia Miller (Robert); two sons: Marty H. Ivy (Tina) and Ken Ivy (Ivey) all of West Point; six grandchildren: Will Miller, Blake Miller, Maegan Ivy, Lauren Ivy, Day Ivy, and Wren
Ivy; one sister, Elaine White of Pheba; He was predeceased by a number of brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers are Tim Wilson, Steve Wilson, Byron Acker, Sam White, Jeremy Klutts, Robbie Pierce, Joseph Huffman and Jason McKellar.
Honorary pallbearers are John McTaggart, Dwight Davidson, Larry “Butch” Boykin, Sam Wiggs, John Ed Freshour, Charlie Acker, Stanley Bramlett and Frank Portera.
