Gerald N. Moore

Gerald N. Moore age 79, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Dugan Memorial Home, in West Point.
He was born September 27, 1934, in Valley Station, Ky., to the late Lillian Vaughn and Walter Moore.
He was at Retired U. S. Marine Master Gunnery Sargeant for 24 ½ years. He attended Montpelier Baptist Church. After retirement he worked in civil service for the U. S. Navy. A Veteran of U. S. Marines having served during Korea and Vietnam. Gerald N. Moore married Mary Powell Moore October 10, 1958, in Buford-Parris Island, S.C.
Funeral services are Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jerry King officiating. Cremation will be made following services. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mary W. Moore of Montpelier, two daughters, Loretta Hall of Salem, Va., Nannette Shinn (Michael) of Montpelier, five grandchildren, Wesley Hall, Emily Hall, Justin Shinn, Emerson Shinn and Savannah Shinn, two sisters, Bonnie Green (Dan) of Cleveland, Tenn., Doris Fiotakias of Wilton, Conn. Preceding him in death was his sister, Dixie Long.

Visitation is Tuesday, March 19, 2013, from 12:30 until service time at Calvert Funeral Home.
