Geneva Russell Pearson age 96, passed away Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Golden Triangle in Columbus.
Geneva Russell Pearson was born December 15, 1916, in Detroit, Ala., to the late Mary Jane Holloway and Everett Wakefield. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She married Delbridge Russell September 9, 1934, at Prairie Point, he preceded her in death September 13, 1974. She married Eugene Edwin Pearson August 14, 1982, in West Point and he preceded her in death May 23, 1998.
Funeral services are Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Bro. Mark Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Brooksville Cemetery in Brooksville.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Monica Blanton of Hamilton, and Jan Little (Thomas) of High Shoals, Ga., two sons, Robert Russell (Shirley) of New Augusta, and Grover “Butch” Russell of Columbus, 14 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Ruby Turner of Columbus and Lou Cothran of Dothan, Ala.
Preceding her in death were her great- -granddaughter, Alana Oliver, great-great- grandson Colby Reagan, son-in-law Trellis Blanton, three sisters, Ruth Baldwin, Jonnie Mae Gammill and Reathie Wakefield, two brothers, Ursel Wakefield and Wilson Wakefield.
Pallbearers are Robbie Russell, John Russell, Kenneth Blanton, Keith Blanton, Lee Russell, Lance Russell, Greg
Roberds, Joe Latner.
Honorary pallbearers are Friends at First Baptist-West Point, and Calvary Baptist-Columbus.
Memorials may be made to donor’s choice.
Visitation is Saturday, March 30, 2013, from 9 - 10 a.m. service time at Calvert Funeral Home.
