Eddie Hazlewood

Eddie Hazlewood, age 63, passed away, Thursday, May 31, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Edward Earl Hazlewood was born Nov. 9, 1948, in West Point, to Helen Herring Hazlewood Clifton and the late Sidney Earl Hazlewood. He was an "A" Fitter Welder for Babcock and Wilcox for Company for 30 years and a member of Real Life Church in Columbus. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. Eddie Hazlewood married Sandra Spencer Hazlewood Dec. 17, 1976, in West Point. Mr. Hazelwood loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was a an avid sports fan,
especially football. Mr. Hazlewood loved visiting the mountains. His favorite place to visit was Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg,Tenn.
Funeral services are Sunday, June 3, 2012, at 4:30 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Martin Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Cairo Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West
Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Spencer Hazlewood of West Point; two daughters: Christie Morris and Shannon Morris Bateman both of West Point; two sons: Eddie Hazlewood of West Point, and Russell Morris of Meridian; four grandchildren: Josh Hancock, Audrey Pee, Landon Golson and Lily Grace Hazlewood; his mother, Helen Herring Hazlewood Clifton of West Point; two sisters: Sylvia McKee (Robert) of Cedar Bluff, and Alice Eaton (Darrell) of West Point; two brothers: Johnny Hazlewood of West Point, Bobby Hazlewood (Dyann) of Cedar Bluff. His grandparents Milburn and Jewel Bean Hazlewood also preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Rowland Morris, Charles Foster, Maverick Eaton, Bill Spencer, Jr., Austin Clardy, Ronnie Spencer, and Chance Livingston.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors, former co-workers at Babcock & Wilcox Company, and the doctors, nurses and staff at North MS Medical, Center-Tupelo.
Visitation is Saturday, June 2, 2012, from 5 - 8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
