Eagles to take on Calhoun

February 7, 2013

Head Coach Gary Vaughn and his Hebron Christian Eagles are chomping at the bit as they are ready to enter into the district 3-A basketball tournament tonight.
Hebron has not played a game in over two weeks and have been really anticipating entering into the tournament. Even though some Eagles fans may be looking ahead to Saturday night, Coach Vaughn knows his team has to take care of Calhoun Academy first understanding how important the game is for seeding.
“We can not help but look ahead to Winona Christian,” commented Vaughn about entering the district tournament, “but we know Calhoun is the first step in the tournament and we really respect them as team.”
The Eagles have gotten the better of the Cougars so far this season as Hebron has been victorious twice over Calhoun. The past meeting between the two schools saw the Eagles pick up their sixth district win 59-41.
“We want an up-tempo game and to make sure we are getting rebounds,” said Coach Vaughn about the keys to the victory tonight, “also we need to make high percentage buckets which we have not done well all season.”
The Eagles are unbeaten in the past three games and hope that they can continue the success through the district tournament. Hebron will tip-off their postseason tonight at 8:30 following the completion of the Lady Eagles’ game against Kemper Academy.
