The Hebron Christain Eagles (2-8; 0-2) are coming off of an exciting win over Calhoun Academy.
Dropping down to eight-man football for the first time last Friday night, the Eagles managed to slip by the experienced eight-man crew of Calhoun 38-30.
This week, the team will be going back to their normal numbers on the field, as they get set to finish out the 2010 season against Winona Academy (7-2; 2-0).
After getting knocked out of the playoff hunt by Immanuel almost two weeks ago, the Eagles will be celebrating senior night in what will also be the final home game of the season.
âItâs going to be our senior night, and our kids are going to come out here and play hard,â said Hebron head coach Greg Watkins after Friday nightâs game.
Prior to Friday nightâs win, the Eagles last won on September 3 at West Memphis Christian. The 38 points the Eagles scored against Calhoun was a season-high for Hebron. The highest total before that was 20 points.
Winona comes into the game, undefeated in the district. Hebron will be trying to play a spoiler role, taking much-needed momentum away from the district winners before they go into the post-season the following week.
Winonaâs first loss came on September 10 against Lee Academy.
The Stars then won three games in a row, before falling to DeSoto in another non-district match up.
Since then, the Stars have taken down Deer Creek and Strider Academy in preparation for their final league match of the season at Hebron.
The Eagles had lost five in a row before they defeated Calhoun last week.
The seniors listed on the Hebron roster are Jacob Crow, Chase ray, Jae Shaw, Chad Smith, Kevin Simmons and Jared Jones.
Kickoff for the game will be at 7 p.m.
