There is little doubt that the Hebron Christian Eagles (1-7; 0-2) played their best game all year on Friday night. Still, a 22-14 lead in the middle of the fourth was not enough get them past the Rams of Immanuel.
That game, in particular, was also the most important of the season for the Eagles. It was their chance to get back in the district race, after falling to Central Holmes two weeks before in their first district match.
Now the Eagles will have to wait at least another week before they can try their hand at a 2010 district win, as they will face non-league opponent Calhoun Academy this Friday night, at home.
Based out of Calhoun City, the Cougars will come to Hebron with a 1-8 record, registering zero wins in six league games.
The two teams have very similar records, most notable the fact that they both have only one victory.
Hebron will be attempting its first win since week three at West Memphis Christian.
They will be trying for the second win on the team’s homecoming night.
After this game, Hebron will finish out the season, at home, against Winona, the final league match of the season.
Friday night’s game will start at 7 p.m.
