Dill, Lady Raiders escape Heritage

November 14, 2013

By Will Nations

Sarah Dill was looking for a coming out game in her sophomore season for the Oak Hill Lady Raiders.
During her junior high career, Dill was an offensive juggernaut, scoring an average of 20 points or more in the seventh- to ninth-grade span. Last season, Dill was a strong contributor off the bench for Oak Hill in its 30-win season.
Now with a spot in the starting five, Dill had scored double digits in the first three of the four games to start the 2013-14 basketball campaign before the Lady Raiders' contest against Heritage Academy Tuesday night. Dill, previously, was held to a single digit point performance against Jackson Academy in Oak Hill's first loss Saturday in Jackson, 55-48.
“She needed that break out game,” Oak Hill Head Coach Stan Hughey said about Dill's performance. “I communicated with her the other night and asked her when that break out game was coming. She has been thinking about it lately. She wanted to play good and she really did tonight.
“She looked like one of the best players in the state tonight,” Hughey added.
