The Clay County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. made a donation of books Thursday to the library at South Side Elementary School.
“The Deltas donate books to South Side library and the next year we make a donation to the Bryan Public Library,” said Clay County Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. President Gail Atkins. “We rotate every year with our donation knowing that both libraries are used by area children. It’s a small way the Deltas can give back to the community.”
Retired educator and member of DSTS Naomi Kilgore said books donated by DSTS are always age appropriate and winners of the Caldecott, Wilder or Newbery Awards. These awards are presented by the Association for Library Service to Children and the American Library Association.
