DAR discusses historical mound

March 16, 2013

The Horseshoe Robertson Chapter of the NSDAR met Thursday at the First Christian Church. The ladies have brought up the need lately for the clearing and restoration of the Native American mounds, South of town on Highway 45 Alt. The original marker on the Highway which shows the site to be on the National Registry of Historic Places, was placed there under the direction of the wife of Presbyterian minister and missionary J.P. Unger. She herself was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
