Cyclist In Critical Condition After Colliding With Vehicle

May 24, 2011

57-year-old Jane Morgan of Starkville is in critical condition after being struck Sunday morning by a vehicle traveling west bound on Highway 50 in Clay County.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports that Morgan was also headed west bound on her bicycle alongside another cyclist around 10 a.m. Sunday when a driver, 44-year-old Robbie Morton of Cedar Bluff, hit Morgan with her vehicle. Officials say Morton was not charged with anything, and the accident is currently under investigation by MHP.
Morgan was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo where she is being treated for severe injuries.
