County millage to drop

August 29, 2013

Residents of the five districts in Clay County will be seeing a decrease in their district's millage rates.

The figures were outlined in Clay County's 2013-2014 budget, which will be adopted by the Board of Supervisors at a hearing on Sept. 13.

The residents of each district will be asked to pay a separate tax, which is added to the county rate based on “whatever debt has been issued by the supervisor,” Clay County Chancery Clerk Amy Berry said.
