County Board approves Real and Personal Roll for 2017

The Clay County Board of Supervisors inspected, approved and equalized the Real and Personal Roll for 2017 during yesterday morning’s meeting.

Chancery Clerk Amy Berry said the Real and Personal Roll is a record of all the property in Clay County.

“The board has now approved and equalized the roll, and it is now open for inspection,” Berry said. “If anyone chooses to object to the value of their property, they’re required to file
an objection.”

Berry said objections must be filed by the first Monday in August in the Chancery Clerk’s office. Tax Assessor/Collector Paige Lamkin said the Real and Personal Roll for 2017 could be viewed at the Clay County Court House.

The board approved a request by Berry for a new copier for Court Room 2.

Berry said the current copier did not work, and the new one would cost $88 per month.

During the meeting, the board also approved travel requests for two dispatchers to attend educational sessions in Tupelo and constables to travel to Vicksburg to attend Constables Association Board Meeting.

The board recessed until 9 a.m. on July 27.
