Cora White Strickland

Cora White Strickland died Friday, January 21, 2011 at her home following a lengthy illness. She
was born May 25, 1922 to Fannie Powell White and Abe White in Pheba, Mississippi. She was a lifetime member of
Pheba Baptist Church and an active member of her community as long as her health permitted.
Services will be Sunday, January 23 at 2:30 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point, Mississippi with Rev. B.F. Lee and Rev. Terry Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow at the Pheba Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her son, Eddie Strickland (Sandra), of Pheba and three daughters, Jan Harris (Hugh), Jodie Baker
(Jim), and Grace Clark (Doug), all of Tupelo, and nine grandchildren, Chris Clark (Tara), Sally Adams (John), Kelly Putt
(Brad), Mollie Baker, Jeb Baker, Katie Chandler (Kyle), Amy Strickland, Tanner Harris, and Addison Harris, eight great
grandchildren, and her sister Ruth Lee (Rev. B.F.) of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Joe E. Strickland, her parents, and her brother J. C. White of Drew, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Chris Clark, Jeb Baker, Tanner Harris, Mark Vaughn, Bernie White, and Steve White.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her many friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. at the Calvert Funeral Home.
