City Prosecutor May Be Selected Soon

March 12, 2013

At least four weeks have passed since West Point Municipal Court proceeded with a city prosecutor, but that could change as early as tonight.

Last week during a work session of the West Point Board of Mayor and Selectmen, the board discussed the city prosecutor's position, which was left vacant several weeks ago with the election of Angela Turner-Lairy to the State Senate. During their work session Mayor Scott Ross noted that only two applications for city prosecutor had been submitted to City Hall as of last Thursday.

The board will discuss the position tonight during their regular meeting and may make the decision then to hire someone to fill the vacant seat.
