West Point's annual Christmas open house will see local shops open from 1-4 p.m. Sunday to kick off the holiday shopping season.
West Point-Clay County Growth Alliance Director Lisa Klutts said more than 10 local shops will be open for the event. She said the day would have a "Downtown and Around Town" theme, with shops located in downtown and also on Highway 45 opening house.
"Most of these stores aren't typically open on Sunday, so it will give people a chance to come out who don't normally get to," Klutts said. "The weather is supposed to be nice, and you'll have a chance to get out and see folks you don't get to see every day."
Downtown stores open for the event include Rose Drug Store, Shendopen, Petal Pushers, Wisteria, Accessories on Main, Deborah Mansfield Decorative Painting and Bits n' Pieces. "Around Town" stores open for the event will be Flowers by Shirley, Jubilations Cheesecake, Mossy Oak, Outdoor Gear and Just for Ladies.
Klutts said many of the shops would offer discounts to participants, and shoppers would also have the chance to enter to win "Downtown and Around Town Dollars" to go toward future purchases.
The Louise Campbell Center for the Arts will present live music from the Columbus Choral Society beginning at 3:30.
