Charles H. Ballard

Charles H. Ballard, age 68, passed away, July 30, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point.
Charles H. Ballard was born Sept. 1, 1942, in Sturgis, Miss., to the late Fannie Mae and Lester Ballard.
He was a member of East End Baptist Church in Columbus, Miss., and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy. He married Alice Faye Hodge Jan. 24, 1969, at the family home in Sturgis, Miss. He worked for Purolator and more recently, nine years for Columbus Brick.
A memorial service is today, Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at 2 from East End Baptist Church in Columbus with Bro. Albert Wilkerson officiating. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include wife Faye Ballard of West Point, Miss.; two daughters: Samantha Schmidt (Anthony) of Jackson, Miss., and Amber Wellman (Alex) of Yorktown, Va.; one son, Charlie Ballard of Brandon, Miss.; and one grandson, Bryce Wellman. Charles H. Ballard was preceded in death by his parents and sisters: Beatrice and Frances, and brothers: Vester and James.
