Charles Edward Cartee

Charles Edward Cartee, age 75, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Mr. Charles was born Dec. 10, 1938, in Clay County, the son of the late Spurgeon Cartee and Dovie Eaton Cartee Felder. He was a truck driver for United Produce and Bigbee Transportation. He was a Baptist. He married Opal Oline Payne June 6, 1955. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Charlene Comer and by a son, Larry Payne.
Funeral services are today, Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 10 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walter Butler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife Opal Oline Cartee of West Point; his daughter, Keri Cartee (Michael) of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; his two sons: Donald Payne (Judy) of Laurel and Jeff Cartee (Donna) of West Point; nine grandchildren: Kristi Knight (Chris), Leslie Payne, Shandi Rossip, Dustin Payne, Taylor Cartee, Wesley Payne, Raegan Payne, Kevin Payne, and Kenny Payne and 16 great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Taylor Cartee, Dustin Payne, Wesley Payne, Robert Comer, Michael Fusco, and Devin Bray.
Visitation is today, Tuesday, June 10, 2014, from 9 – 10 a.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
