Get em’ while they’re hot.
Tickets for the West Point Green Wave and Brookhaven Panthers 5A state championship game are now on sale right here in West Point. Tickets are on sale for $12, which is $1 cheaper than purchasing the tickets at the gate.
Purchasing the tickets from West Point High, at the discounted rate, will help the school, as revenue from the sales goes back to West Point High.
Saturday night’s game, which is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium in Jackson will feature the six-time state champions Green Wave team against the 2004 4A state champions of Brookhaven.
Tickets can be bought at two locations. The high school’s athletics office at the North Campus has the passes, as well as the school district’s central office.
“We would appreciate a lot of fan support,” said athletics secretary Audrey Randall. “We consider this to be a family thing, and we are very appreciative of all of the fan support.”
While purchasing tickets from the athletics office, fans can also pick up 2009 and 2010 Green Wave fan gear, including t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats at discounted prices.
For those wishing to spend the night in Jackson, the athletics office has a list of hotels that are offering discounted rates for those attending the championship games this weekend. Those rates start at $50 a night and range to $109.
