The Carroll Academy Rebels (4-3) have not had a lot of trouble scoring points this season.
Coming off a 46-18 win over Deer Creek, they faced another non-league opponent on Friday, in the Eagles of Hebron Christian (1-6).
The Eagles have had a tough time scoring this season, with 20 being the most they’ve scored in any ball game.
They would get about a third of that on Friday, falling 47-6 to the Rebels, who are brushing up for more conference action.
While the Rebels are salvaging a slow start that might have ended their hopes for a playoff berth, Hebron continues to struggle on offense and defense.
While the Eagles got a break from conference play, a week after falling in their first league game 32-20 to Central Holmes, they will be back in district action next week, at home, against Immanuel.
The Rams have shown promise this season, but a lot like Hebron, they have had ups and downs that have led to a 3-5 record.
Hebron’s playoff hopes are still alive, as they will face Winona Christian in the final game of the season, hoping they will be in good place to secure a post-season berth.
