Carl T. Harris

Carl T. Harris, age 65, passed away, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Carl T. Harris was born Jan. 1, 1946, in Sulligent, Ala., to the late Mattie L. Yarbrough Harris and Raymond Harris. He was a shop foreman with Bryan Foods for 40 years and recently for Navastar for the past 6 years. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Harris loved helping others and working in his repair shop on vehicles, but most of all traveling and being with his grandchildren and family. He was a wonderful man, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. He was married to Sherree Dill Harris on June 3, 1967, in West Point.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 29, 2011, at 10 a.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Thomas J. Warrington officiating and assisted by Dr. James Towery. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery near Montpelier.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Sherree Harris; two sons: Stephen Thomas "Peanut" Harris (Teena) and Tommy Harris (Ann-Marie) all of West Point; three grandchildren: Bentley Harris, Bo Harris, and Jackson Harris; two sisters: Dorothy Hannah (Robert) of West Point, and Shirley Ray Burgess of Maben; and one brother, B. Alvin Harris (Dot) of Columbus.
Pallbearers are Roy Mitchell, Roger Brand, Wayne Hannah, Doug Hannah, James Melcher, and Mike Melcher.
Honorary pallbearers are Wayne Vice, Shawn Bradshaw, Riley Thompson, Victor Henderson, Jason Henderson, Adam Henderson, Robert Hannah, Jimmy Woods, John Ed McComic, all his co-workers at Navistar and, former co-workers at Bryan Foods.

Visitation is today, 5 - 8 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
