The West Point Police Department has been knee deep in its investigation of a recent string of auto burglaries. Two juveniles have been arrested in connection with the cause, though more arrests are expected soon.
West Point Police Chief Tim Brinkley said West Point had a similar string of auto burglaries about this time last year. He added that the department apprehended one individual in connection with the burglaries. Following that arrest, he said, the number of cases appeared to die down.
“Arrests have been made in recent car burglaries,” Brinkley said. “(These are) burglaries that occurred in the Commerce Street, Travis Street and Westbrook Street area in the middle of town that have been occurring within the past month.”
Brinkley said due to the nature of the ongoing investigation, and the fact that juveniles are believed to be in the mix, names have not been released.
