Mr. and Mrs. Roger Brasfield of West Point, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Amber Lauren Brasfield, to Jonathan Michael Black, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Carnathan of Okolona and Mr. and Mrs. Mike Black of Mantachie.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond K. Strobel and the late Mr. L.C. Brasfield and the late Mrs. Annette O’Hara Brasfield , Mrs. Dorothy Tate and the late Mr. Leonard Tate all of West Point.
She is a 2004 graduate of Oak Hill Academy in West Point. She is a 2010 graduate of Mississippi University for Women with a BSN in Nursing. She is employed with Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. John P. Mooney Sr. of Philadelphia and Mrs. John P. Mooney, the late Mr. and Mrs. Faris Lillis of Shannon and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Black of Mooreville and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Blue of Tupelo and Mrs. Janelle Harbor of Mantachie.
He is a 2004 graduate of Oak Hill Academy in West Point. He attended EMCC. He is employed by FXI in Verona.
The wedding is Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at 6 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in West Point. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend this joyous event.
