Chinese virus is spreading

The number of hand,foot and mouth cases reported in China this year has doubled in a week, killing at least 36 children. The virus targets young children. Hand, foot and mouth is a common childhood illness in China but it can be severe. The outbreak sweeping the country is associated with the deadly enterovirus 71, which can cause high fever, paralysis and meningitis.
