In midday trading Monday, the iShares North America Index Fund (IFNA) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 1.4% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of Dupont Fabros Technology (DFT), up about 0.7% and shares of Kite Realty Group (KRG), up about 0.6% on the day.

Monday Deals: Phillips-Van Heusen, Petrohawk

Phillips-Van Heusen (PVH) said today it has agreed to buy Tommy Hilfiger for $3 billion in cash and stock from private equity funds affiliated with Apax Partners. The deal, which include assumption of debt, will be accretive to profits immediately, to the tune of 20 to 25 cents per share in the year ending January 30, 2011.
