Billy Dwayne Lytal

Billy Dwayne Lytal, age 70 passed away Sept. 21, 2010, at Baptist Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were 2 pm Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, at the Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Clinton Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Linda Lytal; two daughters: Tara Lytal and Heather Lytal Broadwater (Davis); three grandchildren: Morgan, Broadwater (14), Mitchell Broadwater (12), and Michael Broadwater (5); one sister, Ann Lytal Busby (Billy); two nieces and a nephew.
Dr. Lytal was the retired Chairman of the Communication Department of Mississippi College, he participated in the following activities: UCLA’s Directors Guild of America Hollywood Internship, Mississippi College Study Aboard Program-London, Director of National Award Winning PBS Series, Producer of the Baptist World Alliance Program, International Filming in Russia, British Isles, Central American and other countries, and several volunteer mission trips to Alaska. In 2008 he was awarded a Lifetime Member of the Mississippi Association of Broadcasters.
Dr. Lytal, an active member of St. John’s Methodist Church, was also a talented carpenter, gardener, potter and sportsman. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, was an avid traveler, enjoyed the theatre and never missed a grandchild’s ball game. Over his 44 year educational career he touched thousands of lives.
