Bill Rushing

Bill Rushing, 71, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. He was born Sept. 13, 1942, in Longview to the late Mary Bell Azwall and Will Rushing. He was a construction worker and member of Christ United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Rushing and son-in-law, Dean Logan.
Funeral services are today, Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at 3 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sarah Windham officiating and assisted by Pastor Betty Wyatt. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point.
Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Wendy Logan (Robert Murphy) of Centertown, Mo.; one step-daughter, Janet Logan (James) of Caledonia; three grandchildren: James Logan, Jr., Summer Logan, and Angel Logan; three sisters: Pauline Gazaway of Louisville, Pearl Vonkanel (Herman) of Caledonia, and Sara Moore (Billy) of Brooksville; and two
brothers: Walter Rushing of Vernon, Al, and Buddy Rushing (Sue) of West Point.
Pallbearers are Charles Cliett, Andrew Caldiero, Richard Netherland, Tyler Hodges, Johnny Gazaway, Jerry Wayne
Johnson, and Boyd O’Brian.
Honorary pallbearers are Nurses and Staff of the Critical Care Unit at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle.
Memorials may be made to Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, MS 39701.
Visitation is today, Friday from 1 – 3 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
