Mr. and Mrs. Phil Barker are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Elizabeth Cole Barker, to Bradley Joel Mobley son of Mr. and Mrs. Donnie Mobley.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tucker of Aberdeen, Mr. and Mrs George Vickers of West Point, and the late Mr. Jimmy Barker.
She is a 2005 graduate of Oak Hill Academy. She is a 2009 graduate of the Mississippi University for Women with a Bachelor of Science degree in speech-language pathology/audiology and with a minor in psychology. She was a member of the National Student Speech-Language Hearing Association at MUW. She is a 2011 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Master's degree in Rehabilitative Counseling, and subsequently earn her Certified Rehabilitation Counselor licensure. She was a member of Chi Sigma Iota, Counseling Academic Honor Society at MSU.
She is currently employed as Evaluator II for the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitative Services in Aberdeen.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Erskine Taylor of Hamilton, Ala., and the late Mrs. Faye Taylor, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mobley of Aberdeen.
He is a 2001 graduate of Aberdeen High School. A 2007 graduate of Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a minor in Mathematics, he was previously employed at MSU in the High Voltage Lab.
He is currently employed as a Power Sytems Engineer for Severstal in Columbus.
Wedding vows will be exchanged Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at 5 p.m. at First Christian Church in Aberdeen.
A reception will follow the ceremony at The Magnolias in Aberdeen.
Invitations will not be sent locally. Family and friends are invited to attend this joyous event.
