Annie Ruth Phelps

Annie Ruth Phelps, age 95, passed away, Monday, March 7, 2011, at the Shearer Richardson Memorial Home, in Okolona, Miss.
Mrs. Phelps was born Nov. 25, 1915, in Woodland, Miss., to the late Dollie Staggs Criddle and Ell Criddle. She was a homemaker and a member of Arbor Grove Baptist Church. Annie Ruth Criddle Phelps married George Emerson Phelps Nov. 25, 1935, in Chickasaw County. He predeceased her May 28, 2004.
Funeral services are Wednesday, March 9, 2011, at 2 p.m. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bobby Lynn Brock officiating. Burial will follow in Arbor Grove Cemetery near Houston, Miss. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters: Bertha Earnest (Raymond) of Okolona, Miss., Louise Allen (Thomas) of West Point, Miss., and Nell Duke of Aberdeen, Miss.; eight grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Armarie Ashby of Okolona, Miss.; two brothers: Troy Criddle (Dola) of West Point, Miss., and Floyd Criddle (Dot) of Philadelphia, Miss. Twelve brothers and sisters preceded Annie Ruth Phelps in death and her son in law, A. E. Duke Jr.
Pallbearers are Tommy Allen, Andrew McDonald, Billy Ray Yarbrough, Jesse Barnett, Edward Cruse, and Robert Langwith.
Honorary pallbearers are Staff of Shearer Richardson Memorial Home, Luther M. "Son" Williams.
Visitation is Wednesday, 12:30 p.m. until service time at Calvert Funeral Home.
