AMR bugs spark billing concerns

West Point Water and Light customers may have received something of a shock upon opening recent utility bills. Transmission errors during the city’s conversion to a digital Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) system, in which meters are designed to digitally collect consumption information for transfer to a central database for billing, in a handful of new meters citywide have raised concerns from a number of residents.
