Alleged attempted suicide incident clarified

March 8, 2013

Police Chief Tim Brinkley speaks Thursday with Mayor Scott Ross, Chief Administrative Officer Randy Jones and other members of the city board.

Eyes grew big in the early part of last week when an area broadcast news agency released a report alleging that a West Point police officer attempted suicide on East Main Street in West Point, but West Point Police Chief Tim Brinkley said almost the entire television report is false.

In Sunday's print version of the Daily Times Leader Brinkley addresses the incident as well as what was reported by the television media earlier this week.
