All-Star teams still alive in Dizzy Dean playoffs

Just four all-star teams representing West Point remain in their respective tournaments heading into day three of the Dizzy Dean finals.

8U boys Nationals
WP 17 - Ackerman 8

The Nationals continued their hot streak Friday with a win over Ackerman, the third straight game with 10 or more runs scored. "We played really good defense and had timely hitting all day," head coach Sherman Berry said. A win today against Starkville will put them in the championship bracket and play again tonight at 6 pm. "We're going to have to play really well this morning. Starkville is probably one of the better teams in it," Berry said.

The 8U Americans were eliminated after falling to Saltillo and then later to Eupora.

10U boys
WP 13 - Hamilton 3
After bouncing back from a tough loss Thursday, West Point rallied for a big win to stay alive and now must defeat Saltillo to move on. The boys will play until they lose today. "We executed right and only gave up two errors in the game," head coach Jonathan Edwards said. "We're just a different team."

The 12U All-Stars lost to Starkville in the Winona bracket, but remain alive and will play the winner of Clinton and Carroll today.

The 8U girls team in Eupora were elimnated after falling to Houston and Winona yesterday while the 10U girls were also eliminated after losing to Louisville.

WP 9 - Eupora 15

West Point's 12U girls remain in their bracket after falling to Eupora yesterday 15-9 they must defeat Louisville today to stay alive.
