Adrienne Hood Steadman, age 79, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus, Miss.
Adrienne Ewing Hood Steadman was born Feb. 1, 1932, in Aberdeen, Miss. to the late Adrienne Ewing and Joe Berry Hood. She started out as a bookkeeper for Mr. J. O. Bishop of "Bishop Chevrolet" and worked later for Jameson Ford, Market Ford-Starkville, Waters Truck and Tractor Company-Columbus for over 30 years. Mrs. Steadman was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. She was known for being a “Mid-South Pair Roller Skating Champion” in her high school years. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas, beginning right after Thanksgiving Holidays. She was also a former member of the Junior Auxiliary. Mrs. Steadman loved to travel and had ventured to Europe, Greece, the Caribbean and the Continental United States. She also her enjoyed pets. Mrs. Steadman married Robert Cecil “Bobby” Steadman Jr. April 4, 1951, in Aberdeen, Miss., he preceded her in death
Jan. 13, 1998, and also by her son, Charles Robert Steadman, Aug. 23, 1956.
Graveside funeral services are Sunday, April 24, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in West Point with E. Scott Allen officiating, burial will follow. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Adrienne "Libby" Steadman of Houston, Texas; her God-Granddaughter, Mitzi McGee of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and a number of nieces and nephews; and her close friend Elaine.

The family will gather Sunday at the Greenwood Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
