It doesn’t matter if you can run like a deer or just want to jog or walk, runners and walkers alike can exercise for a great cause during the 5K Reindeer Run, Jingle Bell Jog, 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, starting at Sally Kate Winters Park.
“I had recently become a stay-at-home mom again and have some extra time on my hands,” said Reindeer Run Coordinator Terri Pierce. “My mother-in-law Joyce Pierce is on the board of directors for the animal shelter so I knew what they needed: Money. The shelter receives no federal monies to operate. The no-kill shelter runs on donations and a few private grants. I wanted to do something to help, so we’re going to run for the shelter.”
