2 arrested in home invasion

West Point Police Department investigators have made an arrest in an alleged home invasion case.
Officers arrested Vernard Gray, 29, and his brother Depriest Gray, both of West Point, Tuesday on suspicion of burglary following an incident on Lone Oak Road.
About 9:30 a.m. June 14, officers responded to the West Point home in reference to a robbery. According to a WPPD statement to media, a witness, whose name has not been disclosed, told officers two men allegedly entered his home and assaulted him.
The witness reported to officers that one suspect had beaten him up and then restrained him. The suspects then allegedly stole an undisclosed amount of money from the victim’s wallet before fleeing the scene.
The victim’s wife, who was home at the time of the alleged invasion, escaped with no injuries. The victim was treated at North Mississippi Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries and released.
