KEMPER - Hebron gave up a run on a two out error Monday night in the fifth inning. It was their only blemish.
The Lady Eagles pounded out 13 hits on their way to a 15-1 victory over Kemper Academy in district action.
Tori Nichols, who finished 3-for-4 with four runs scored had the gameâs first RBI in the first inning with a triple knocking home Rebecca Falkner. Nichols later scored on an RBI single by Beverly Blake to give Hebron a 2-0 advantage.
Four runs in the third, sixth and five in the seventh inning rounded out the scoring on one of Hebronâs best offensive performances of the season.
âWe had two good practices on Friday and Saturday,â head coach Cass Tapley said. âAfter a rough week last week we had to get our focus back. We still went to sleep in the field a couple times but we were a little more aggressive at the plate and on the bases today. â
Blake finished with a game-high four hits in the win while scoring three runs. Alaina Hill, Falkner, Chloe Tapley, Holly Hudson, Broooke Griffin and Hannah Loper all reached base with a knock.
Chloe Tapley again showed why sheâs one of the best in the region and the MAIS with a 20 strikeout performance including a streak where she sat down 11 in a row. She gave up just two hits in the win.
In the JV game Millie Hudson drove in 4 runs for HCS but that was all the scoring they would do in the 13-4 loss.View more articles in:
