Bobby and Barbara Harmon of Cedar Bluff celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary, Feb. 20, at the home of their daughter Cindy Terry.
The Harmons were married Feb. 25, 1961, in West Point. They have three children and seven grandchildren.
Their children gave them an anniversary party, where family and friends enjoyed punch and cake. The couple were presented with gifts and many warm wishes on this joyous occasion.
Kate Thomas and Reid Nevins were honored with an engagement party Oct. 30, at the â€śDock of the Pondâ€ť at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Millard. Friends and family enjoyed a casual buffet dinner and visiting along the dock and around several campfires. Special guests included Mr. and Mrs. Ben Thomas, parents of the bride-elect and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Nevins, parents of the prospective groom. Hosting the party were Nina and Ray Millard, Nancy and Larry Pitre, Judy and Billy Buck Staggers and Stacy and Belk Weems.
Garrett Brock and Carlea Morisak of Houston, Texas, were recently honored with a patio/shed party at the home of Murray and Bridget Shows in Montpelier.
The guest enjoyed a delicious meal of grilled tenderloin with all the trimmings and homemade vanilla ice cream. Special guests were the parents of the couple, Gary and Roxie Brock of Montpelier and Steve and Karla Morisak of Houston, Texas. Hostesses for the evening were Murray and Bridget Shows, George and Judy Simmons, Keith, Bonnie and Jordan Thompson.
Courtney Sims of Tupelo recently graduated from Northeast Community College earning her AS in Art. Sims made the Dean's List and had several pieces of her work shown in the school art exhibit. She received Best of Show her freshman year and 2nd place in painting her sophomore year including some honorable mentions both years. Sims placed 2nd in the state art competition. Sims is now a junior at MSU where she is working on advanced degrees in art.
Charlottie Saul Watson turned 94 Sept. 28. She was born in the Cairo Community of Cedar Bluff, Sept. 28, 1916. Watson was the wife of the late Nelson Watson. She has been a member of Gospel Temple M.B. Church for 60 years. She thanks God she has lived to see 94. Her children, Isabell, Ezell, Thelma Lee, and all her relatives and friends hope she had a happy birthday.
Four generations of Prewitts welcome Grayson Alexander.
Mark and Lindsey Prewitt of Acworth Ga., are proud to announce the birth of their son, Grayson Alexander. He was born in Atlanta, Ga., at 5:09 p.m. he weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 25 ÂĽ inches long. Maternal grandmother is Yevonne S. Prewitt of West Point, and maternal great-grandmother is Ferrell Stapp of the Columbus/West Point area. The mother is the former Lindsey Shurley.
