Yoshidomi, Elliott Engagement
Michiharu and Kyoko Yoshidomi of Kurume City, Japan, are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Emi Yoshidomi, to Jeb McTaggart Elliott, son of John and Barbara Elliott of West Point, Miss.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Michito Yoshidomi from Kurume City, Japan, and Chieko Chikura from Yanagawa City, Japan.
She graduated high school in Japan, and is a 2006 graduate from a dress designing technical school in Fukuoka, Japan.

Katherine Ellis Thomas, age 96, passed away, Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at The Home Place, in Columbus, Miss.
Frances Kendrick Linley
Frances Kendrick Linley, age 77, passed away, Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, North Mississippi Medical Center, in West Point. Frances Kendrick Linley was born June 14, 1933, in Smithville, Miss., to the late Era Mae Lovvorn and Luther Kendrick.
She worked for Monte Glove Manufacturing in Maben, Miss., for a number of years and she was a member of Church of Living Water. She married Raymond E. Linley in 1976.
Mary Ruth Bedford Hemphill
Mary Ruth Bedford Hemphill, age 91, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. She was born Nov. 18, 1919, in Pratt, Miss. Mrs. Hemphill was a teacher and a member of First Baptist Church. She was active in girl scout leadership and in PTA when her children were younger. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
A private family service is Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, with the Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Funeral services for Wendy Ezell are set for Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at noon from Palestine M.B. Church in Van Vleet, Miss. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body will lie in state from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Carter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Harold H. McFarland
Harold H. McFarland, age 86, passed away, Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at the Golden Living Mountain-View Center, in Winchester, Tenn.
Mr. McFarland was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Sandersville, Miss.,
Ricky Wilson Sr.
Ricky Wilson Sr., age 53, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011.
Funeral services are Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at 1 p.m. from Third Mt. Olive M.B. Church, with the Rev. Al Lathan Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Visitation is today, from 3 â€“ 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter's Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.

Itâ€™s not a tournament, but for the Oak Hill basketball program, itâ€™s sure going to feel like one before the weekend is over. The Oak Hill hoops squads will be completing a three-day stretch of games tonight and tomorrow.
After playing Calhoun Academy last night, Oak Hill will play a district match against Carroll tonight, and they will make up Tuesday nightâ€™s games with Winston tomorrow.

There is still time to get kids signed up for the cityâ€™s youth basketball league, but time is running out fast.
Tomorrow will be the final day kids can be added.
The Parks and Recreation Department extended the deadline, which was originally December 30, giving locals more time to sign up.
With the hard economic times still upon most, and Christmas just past, Parks Director James Crowley said that they took the measure to alleviate some of that pressure.

Been putting off getting apparel commemorating the 2010 5A State Title, won by the West Point Green Wave football team?
The West Point Touchdown Club says that there is plenty of merchandise left, including short-sleeve t-shirts, long-sleeve t-shirts and hoodies.
The Club also has a supply of pink hats detailing the 2010 championship.
Club President Kenny Fowler says that there should be more products coming in the future, including hats and a DVD of the 2010 season.
