Sofi Clair Lewis
Barry and Abby Lewis of Bossier City, La., would like to announce the birth of their daughter Sofi Clair Lewis Feb. 10, 2011, at Willis-Knighting, Bossier City, La. She weighed 7 pounds, 8ounces and was 20 inches long.
The proud grandparents are Paul and Robin Kitchens of West Point, Phyllis and Eddie Gregg of Starkville, and Chuck and Susie Lewis of Starkville.
Lasky, Kidder engagement celebrated
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hood Gregory of Okolona, Miss., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Susannah Stubbs, to Woodson Cary Whitehead, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cary Whitehead, III, of Memphis, Tenn.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Van Tankersley Stubbs Sr. of Baldwyn, Miss. and the late Brigadier General Van Tankersley Stubbs Sr., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Harrison Gregory Sr.

Troy D. Criddle
Troy D. Criddle Sr., age 92, passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center of West Point. Troy Dempsey Criddle Sr. was born Jan. 27, 1919, in Chickasaw County, to the late Dollie Staggs and Ell Criddle. Mr. Criddle was a retired burner at B & W for 30 years and a member of West End Baptist Church. He was a member of the V.F.W. and a Veteran of the U. S. Army, having served during WWII. Troy Dempsey. Criddle, Sr. married Dola Francis Thompson on May 13, 1943, in Houston.
James â€śCurryâ€ť Crowson
James â€śCurryâ€ť Crowson, age 89, passed away Sunday Sept. 18, 2011, at Oktibbeha County Hospital.
James Crowson was born July 6, 1922, in Eupora, to the late Arnold Crowson and Monnie Kyle. He attended Hebron Baptist Church and was retired from the State Highway Department. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in WWII.
Ruby L. Spight-Davidson
Ruby L. Spight-Davidson, age 77, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point.
Funeral services are Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at 11 a.m. from Faith Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ben Yerber officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Memorial Gardens.
Visitation is today, from 4 â€“ 6 p.m. at Carter's Mortuary Services Chapel.
Carter's Mortuary Services is in charge of arrangements.
Randy Walls, age 61, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, in Gainesville, Fla.
Randy Walls was born Dec. 8, 1949, in Monroe County to Mildred Cooper and Elmon A. Walls. He graduated from Mississippi State University with two degrees in Psychology and a degree in Industrial Engineering. He retired from Infinite Energy in Gainesville, Fla.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 24, 2011, at First Baptist Church in West Point with Rev. Dale Funderburg officiating.
Coming off another tough loss to regional rivals Noxubee County last week, West Point will get a chance to prove they still have some fight left when they open district play tonight at Lake Cormorant.
West Point were undefeated against district foes in 2010.
