The Lady Raiders and Raiders were victorious Monday at the district 2-AA Tournament in Jackson. Oak Hill Tennis, under Coach Brian Middleton, defeated Canton Academy, Leake Academy, Manchester Academy, and Winston Academy, in route to the district crowns in the girls and boys sides of the tournament.

The Hebron Christian Eagles had their backs against the ropes following an 18-0 rout Tuesday afternoon.
In a win or go home game two, the Eagles needed anything and everything to fall in their favor to defeat the top-ranked Tri-County Academy Thursday afternoon in Flora.

Tuesday afternoon the Eagles celebrated Senior Night as Hebron Christian recognized the accomplishments of Diamond Girl Heather Jackson and three baseball seniors, Austin Foster, Ryan Moore, and Will-Corben Rogers.

Tuesday night, West Point was on the road for their final district game of the season in Oxford. The Green Wave jumped out to a 10-2 lead heading into the sixth innings. The Oxford Chargers made an impressive comeback with a seven-run sixth and one-run seventh to send the game into extra innings. In the extra frame, Oxford claimed the game on a wild pitch scoring the walk-off run finishing the comeback over the Green Wave 11-10 in eight innings.

Hebron Christian recognized their class of 2013 seniors Tuesday afternoon prior to the MAIS opening round playoff game against Tri-County Academy. Despite the nasty rain and terrible conditions, the Hebron Christian Junior High track team, under the direction of David Foster, weathered the storm last Wednesday and put together a strong showing at the district 3-A Track Meet in Winona.

It was a great week to be an MSU Bulldog sports fan. After a midweek come from behind victory over arch-rival and #18 Ole Miss in the annual Governor’s Cup baseball game at Trustmark Park in Jackson, in front of a record crowd (8,240) by a score of 5-1, the Bulldogs continued their outstanding play over the weekend by sweeping SEC newcomer Texas A&M at College Station.

In Oak Hill’s final game of the season, the Raiders needed a win to at least close out the year on a high note.
