Eddie Brescher finished strong in the final two rounds of the 40th Mississippi PGA Trustmark Invitational.
After shooting a 2-over 74 in the rain-plagued opening round Friday, the amateur from Hattiesburg played bogey-free golf on the last 36 holes to defend his 2013 title Sunday at Old Waverly Golf Course in West Point. Brescher completed the final round with a 5-under 67 with three birdies on the back nine, defeating two-round leader T.J. Morgan by one stroke —– an 8-under, 208 victory.
