Poplar Springs downs Tibbee

TIBBEE — The name of the game was scoring runs.
The Poplar Springs Blues used four runs in the ninth inning, holding off a late Tibbee rally, to claim a 13-8 win in the Tombigbee Waterway Baseball League Sunday at Roundhead Stadium in Tibbee. Despite the loss, the Ramblers still have a chance for a first-place finish in the South Division with a win against the Snowtown Stars Sunday, July 27 at Snowtown.
Zach Scott, the Blues’ starting pitcher, threw eight innings, scattering nine hits and fanning 10 Ramblers. Scott picked up the win.
