Williams selected as Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen

Tuesday at noon, the Clarion-Ledger released their ninth selection of the 2013 edition of the “Dandy Dozen”, that player was West Point’s senior running back Aeris Williams.

DIZZY DEAN ALL-STAR Schedule

The Dizzy Dean South State tournament will begin today in four different age groups. The tournament will be contested in four different locations as well. West Point’s Park and Recreation department will be represented by three teams in three age groups. The Following is their schedules and location for this weekend.

West Point U-8 All-Stars
West Point’s U-8 All-Star will be competing in Starkville at McKee Park. The All-Stars are one of seventeen teams that are vying for a Dizzy Dean South State Championship. The tournament is double-elimination.

CWS newcomer Indiana loses 5-4 to Mississippi St

The Comeback Kids were at it again in Omaha. Once again, for the second time in as many games in CWS action, a key two-out RBI hit in the eighth by a Bulldog while trailing led to ultimate victory for the Diamond Dawgs, this time over the Hoosiers, as the Bulldogs (50-18) advance to the bracket finals with a 5-4 victory over Indiana (49-15). Delivering the key two-out RBI hit on this occasion was PH/DH Trey Porter, who blasted a the two run single into the outfield to allow MSU to take the lead for good over the Hoosiers.

Bulldogs win Game 1 in Omaha - Take down No.3 Beavers 5-4

The Diamond Dawgs made the most out of their first trip to Omaha since 2007, defeating #3 national seed Oregon State by a score of 5-4 in Game 1 of the College World Series. The game saw the Bulldogs (49-18) come from behind twice to pull the victory out over the Beavers (50-12), including a two out RBI double by 1B Wes Rea in the eighth to put the Dawgs ahead for good.

MSU heads to Omaha with Bratton head of operations

For West Point native Tyler Bratton, being in the dugout with the Diamond Dogs as they play in Omaha tomorrow at 2 p.m. against the No. 3 Oregon State will be like a kid’s dream coming true.

Braves take home 7-8 year-old title
