Every game is critical at this point in the season.
Friday night’s district match between the West Point Green Wave (7-2;5-0) and Center Hill was no exception. Playing their fifth straight out of seven consecutive division games to end the season, West Point was looking to improve on a stomping of Saltillo the week before.
The Green Wave did just that, taking care of the Center Hill Mustangs 55-7.
The Oak Hill Academy Raiders (5-5;1-3) have certainly accomplished some of their major goals during the 2012 season.
Having not won a game since 2010, the Raiders got things off to a great start with two consecutive victories to start the year. One of those wins was a district victory against Winston Academy.
On Friday night, the Raiders played their last non-district game against Kirk Academy out of Grenada. Though Oak Hill had its troubles in the middle of the season, they are proving their resilience once again with a second straight win, a 34-14 notch over Kirk.
Hebron Christian returned home in the final game of the season as they played host to Humphreys Academy from Belzoni, Mississippi.
It was Senior night and six players received honors on the night; Will Corbin Rogers, Taylor Coggins, Austin Foster, Jacob Ware, Tyler Doss, and Ryan Moore. Also Senior videographer, Carson Williams, and Senior cheerleader, Heather Jackson, were honored during the night’s festivities.
