VARDAMAN - For the second consecutive game, Rico Robinson came off the bench to lead West Point in points with 17.
It just so happens the Green Wave won again 77-45 over North Pontotoc Saturday, giving them plenty of momentum heading into tonight’s district battle with Oxford.
Using the same philosophy from Friday night’s win over Caledonia which snapped a three-game losing skid, the Green Wave stayed true to being aggressive on defense with the press and forcing turnovers which in turn led to points.
GRENADA - Friday’s loss to North Delta really gave the Oak Hill Raiders a bad attitude. So bad, they put up their best defensive performance of the season on Saturday in a 53-12 victory over Indianola.
“It was the best we defended all year,” head coach Stan Hughey said. “We didn’t defend very well Friday, we talked about that and we came out really intense on defense.”
The Lady Raiders 16-5, led by Tori Ellis with 14 points, quickly grabbed a 15-6 lead in the first quarter. And by halftime, the girls had a 35-10 lead.
